Extended Learing
MIS Saturday Academy

Curriculum
At Marie International School, we offer a Saturday Academy open not only to current MIS students but also to students from outside the school.
Our English and Math classes are divided into Beginner and Advanced levels, ensuring that each student receives instruction tailored to their individual learning needs.
Students may choose to enroll in either English or Math individually, or take advantage of our dual enrollment option for both subjects.
Class Overview
This class is designed to prepare students for English proficiency exams such as TOEFL, EIKEN®, and IELTS, with a focus on Writing, while also developing skills in Grammar and Reading step by step.
Students will steadily build the expressive and logical thinking skills necessary for success, leading to reliable score improvement. In addition to acquiring knowledge to pass the exam, we emphasize developing output skills and study habits that will be useful for future academic studies and study abroad. Through careful instruction tailored to each student’s learning progress, we help them build a solid foundation and achieve visible results in exams.
EIKEN®/TOEFL Class
01. To achieve success in English proficiency exams and improve test scores
02. To refine Writing and Reading skills
03. To enhance expressive ability and logical thinking

Class Structure and Goals
Beginner Class
Overview
In this class, we build foundational writing skills and systematically develop grammar for certification exams—particularly EIKEN® Grade 3. Through practice problems, students not only become familiar with the exam format but also learn the basics of composing grammatically accurate essays. We also conduct reading-comprehension practice using MIS-selected texts.
We aim not only to build the necessary expressive and logical thinking skills for passing exams, but also to cultivate output skills and study habits that will support students’ future learning.
Through personalized instruction tailored to each student’s current level, we ensure they develop solid ability and gain the confidence to achieve results in exams.

In particular, we focus on improving the key elements required in modern writing: task achievement, responsiveness to the prompt, coherence and cohesion, vocabulary range, and grammatical knowledge and accuracy.
We aim not only to build the necessary expressive and logical thinking skills for passing exams, but also to cultivate output skills and study habits that will support students’ future learning.
Through personalized instruction tailored to each student’s current level, we ensure they develop solid ability and gain the confidence to achieve results in exams.
